Hello Settlers! My name is Blake. I'm a 26 yr old college grad who works in IT in the Kansas City area. I just found out about Calypso two days ago. So I am the truest noob around. Despite my newness to this game I have played MANY MMOGs: Everquest, PlanetSide, Guild Wars, WoW, Anarchy Online, Travian, Dark Throne, Shadowbane. I'm sure there are more but can't think of anymore now. I have played in many top tier guilds working with others to accomplish group goals. I want to join your society because this game has a hard learning curve and is a little lonely with out a support group. It would be nice to have a pool of people to ask questions to while i sweat; hell i'm not even sure I'm sweating in the right place. The exsperiance in other MMOG's I have played will carry on to Calypso allowing me adjust quickly to the learning curve. I feel I could benifit this society as much as it will benifit me. I found your website from the EntropiaForums. I'm glad you guys had your own cause it sure is hard getting activated on theirs. Looking forward to getting to know some of you all.

Welcome Blake ( Sabin your avatar name ?) , it is always good to get new players interested in joining us.
Calypso Settlers move of a family than your traditional society /guild; we help each other out & generally spend ingame time together.
I have been leading the society for over 3 years now since I created it to help a bunch get started.
We are always willing to help new players learn the ropes although we are more selective about who we invite to join the soc. So once you have applied (this post) to join we start a poll in the members section.
The members basically vote you in over your trial period (min 2weeks); if we like you & visa versa you be invited.
Interest that you mention Guildwars, I did take a break from PE (game was Project Entropia back then) to play it for a few months but I was sucked back in.
As you don't know any members , we need to meet up ingame so you can start adding the members to your FL ; what times ( MA time press U ) do you play ? & where are you sweating at the moment ? Swamp camp ? Nea's or where ?
Also what is you full Avatar Name ? So we can look for you .

I think you may have missed my PS in my first note. Perhaps I edited it while you where posting. My Character name is Sabin Wydoe Marx. Durring the week I am lucky to get 2-3 hours on. Usualy around 7-9 CST. The weekend is realy when I have time to veg in my favoriate virtual world.
Currently I am sweating North East ish of the Port Allen Mall. I don't know how to distinguish what the spot is called. This is partly why I think I'm lost. I will be trying to get on when i get home here in about an hour. If anyone is on please send me a message. I would love to meet you.

ok, missed you again lol.
swamp camp is good spot to start sweating (safety in numbers plus healers ), from PA ( port atlantis) just follow the path going North . The area will be added to your once you reach it although there isn't a TP (teleporter) there.
We generally use MA time (ingame time) as we are in different time zones (3 in North America & 3 in Europe )
You could use the shout out box to tell us where are next you are ingame.
Hope to catch you tomorrow

Thanks Rowdoc for givning me a pointer on the sweat area. I was way off!! Now that I have founded it I was able to get a few hundred bottles of sweat last night. Things are starting to become a little less confusing.
Question:
Can you send messages in game or do you have to have someone friended?

Yea I learned lots form you two last night. Some social interaction is just what I needed to get me to a more comfortable place with some mechanics of the game.
Boa stayed with me for a while after you left and game me some insite that help me make the dessicion to deposit. Now i'm working on my mining on treasure island.
I think the tp run sounds like an important task so I am ready when ever! I'm even ready to "great Nea's at least". While I don't know what that is I'm down for what ever.

I have recently discovered that Calypso Settlers will not be the Society for me. I feel that a majority of the activity with CalSet is on European time; I feel it will better for me to find a Society that matches my in game time. While deciding to remove my application wasn't easy; I do not want it to underscore the assistance and friendships I received. I thank everyone who welcomed me into this game and plan on working with you all for the rest of my time in EU.
